Parking Information

On-campus parking at MIT is very limited, so if you are staying at a local hotel, we recommend you leave your parked vehicle there and utilize public transportation.  On Saturday, August 25, and Sunday, August 26, there will be parking available on campus in the Albany Garage, with a daily fee payable by credit card.  The only on-campus parking option available on Monday, August 27 and any other weekday is the 139 Mass Ave Lot, which has a daily fee.  There is street parking available in Cambridge, and a number of public parking garages located in Kendall Square.

If you are arriving on campus to drop off your student’s belongings, you will be able to pull up close to your student’s assigned residence hall to unload your vehicle, but you will not be able to remain parked at the residence halls.

Baggage Storage

If you need to have your student’s baggage or belongings sent to Cambridge prior to their arrival, you must make arrangements with a separate company.  You cannot ship directly to MIT until your student has moved into their permanent housing assignment.
