When You Arrive
This page summarizes what you need to do when you arrive at MIT. All students are expected to be on campus no later than 12 noon on August 26.
Note: International students must arrive earlier on either Saturday, August 18 or Sunday, August 19 for international orientation events (Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21), prior to attending the broader First-Year Orientation beginning August 26. U.S. Citizens living abroad and Permanent Residents do not attend international orientation events.
All transfer students participate in First-Year Orientation starting August 26. A detailed Orientation schedule will be posted online later this summer, so please check back.
When you arrive on campus, you should proceed directly to your assigned residence hall. Once you have checked in there, you should proceed to check-in with Orientation staff in Room 7-104. Those arriving on Saturday, August 25 or Sunday, August 26, should check-in on the third floor of the Stratton Student Center (W20).
