Associate Advisor Application

To apply to become an Associate Advisor for AY2018-2019 you must complete this application by April 3.

This is a one-year commitment that includes the following expectations: 

  • Associate Advisor Training: Thursday, May 3 (7:00-8:30pm) in 10-250
  • Associate Advisor Orientation: Monday, August 27 from 1-2:00pm in 10-250
  • Registration Meetings and other advising activities: August 27-August 30. Early Return information will be available in late spring.
  • Training and Development: Must attend 2 additional training sessions during the academic year. Dates will be available in August. 

Associate advisors are the primary resource of academic support for first-years. They are an essential part of a support team made up of a Faculty Advisor, Head of House, Graduate Resident Tutor (GRT) and our office

Associate Advisors also provide support and academic resources to first-years living in their residence under the direction of the Associate Advisor Steering Committee. Associate advisors compliment the advisor/associate advisor relationship and will be an identified resource within their living group. 

The AA Steering Committee serves as a liaison between dorms on campus and this office. Members connect associate advisors to the first year students living in their dorm and are responsible for providing in-house support and academic resources for first-years. Applications to serve on the Committee are also available.
