Is there a limit on the amount of credit I can receive for previous study from exam scores and/or transfer credit?

There is no limit on the amount of credit for previous study that can be earned at MIT. However, MIT grants credit only for certain AP exams and scores, and some requirements must be met by MIT subjects. Most students need eight terms in residence to complete degree requirements; a few are able to graduate after seven, but most stay the full eight terms to complete a minor or double major, or to prepare for a graduate degree.
